The Fire Laboratory

The Fire Laboratory Performs standard tests according to international, European, Slovenian and other national standards of:

• the fire characteristics of buildings and other materials,
• the fire resistance of loadbearing elements of building structures,
• the fire resistance of non-loadbearing elements of building structures,
• special elements which contribute to the fire resistance of building structures,
• the fire resistance of doors and other closing elements,
• the fire performance of roof coverings, the fire resistance of service installations,
• the performance of fire extinguishers,
• products for which fire characteristics have to be known,
• the elements of ship structures: bulkheads, decks, doors, linings, and ceilings.

The Laboratory also carries out expert studies concerning the solving of complex fire-safety problems such as:

• determination of the causes of fires,
• solving specific fire-safety problems in industry.

The Laboratory has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia to issue test reports and certificates of conformity in the field of:

• the fire characteristics of building materials and the fire resistance of the elements of building structures.

It has also been approved by the Croatian Register of Shipping for the testing of the fire performance of materials and structures in ship-building.
