The Section for Fire Engineering
The Section carries out research into the behaviour of all kinds of structures
under fire loadings.
It also establishes criteria for the fire safety design of buildings.
The Section performs:
- expert studies, tests and analyses of fire-damaged structures to
assess their structural safety and serviceability,
- expert studies of the fire resistance of load-bearing elements and
structures, taking into consideration their materials and degree of
exposure to fire,
- expert studies for the planning of evacuation under conditions of
panic, for cases explosions in production plants, and for work with
highly inflammable liquids.
