The FEHRL Research Coordinators shape the association’s research agenda, exchange information on a wide range of research and technical topics within the association and ensure a joint response to international calls for research. In addition to the regular meetings, the meeting also included presentations or a tour of some of the key research facilities we have at ZAG. The visits were made by representatives from Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia.

FEHRL (Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories) is a professional association that enables members to jointly participate in international research tenders and network with other international organisations working in the field of transport infrastructure. Among the partners with whom FEHRL works closely are the European Commission, the World Road Association PIARC, the Association of European Road Authorities CEDR, the standardisation bodies CEN and ISO, etc. FEHRL brings together “road” laboratories and some road administrations and is currently headed by the Director of ZAG, Assoc. Prof. Dr Aleš Žnidarič, with a four-year term of office.

The colleagues from the association who attended were clearly delighted with the tours and the interesting discussions, and we received several compliments for them. I hope there will be another opportunity soon.
