TITLE:
Drilling Resistance Measurement device DRMS Cordless
DESCRIPTION:
The DRMS method (DRMS Cordless, SINT Technology, Italy) is used for in-situ analysis of the hardness of building or historical materials. In the field of cultural heritage it is used to determine the homogeneity and the degree of decay of materials at different depths and the consolidation effectiveness . It is a micro-destructive method that allows the assessment of the hardness by the depth of the substrate. The method consists of drilling a hole and continuously measuring the penetration force with a load cell, where the rotation speed and the penetration rate were kept constant.
Technical specifications:
  • The maximum drilling force: 100 N
  • The penetration rate: from 1 mm/min to 80 mm/min
  • The rotation speed of the drill: from 20 rpm to 1000 rpm
  • The diameter of the drill: 3 mm or 5 mm
