TITLE:
Autoclave SSRT with circulating system CORMET, Finland, 2011 and 2019
DESCRIPTION:
An autoclave with a circulating system allows samples to be exposed in very pure water at a temperature of up to 300°C and high pressure (up to 170 bar), which allows simulating the primary cooling circuit of a boiling water reactor (BWR).
The autoclave has a 3L titanium pressure vessel, a tensile machine with a stroke of 24 mm and a maximum force of 30 kN, which enables tensile tests (SSRT, const. load) and a manual manipulator for removing the sample.

Electrochemical experiments can also be performed during testing. It has 4 cable conductors (for connecting the sample and potentiostat) and a dedicated Cu/Cu2O/ZrO2 reference electrode.
The circulation system automatically regulates the amount of dissolved O2 (20-3000 ppb) and performs water purification (conductivity below 0.1 uS/cm). The flow is adjustable in the range of 0.2-0.3 L/min.

Access to the equipment together with a qualified operator is possible by prior agreement. The price of the investigation depends on its complexity.

The equipment was 50 % co-financed by ARRS (ARIS) as part of the Public Tender for co-financing the purchase of research equipment (A package 14 and 17).
