Workshop on Advanced X-ray characterisation technologies in Earth Sciences

15.12.2023

At the end of February, the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) will host a special workshop, which we are organising in collaboration with partners from the University of Catania, IGAG-CNR and Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste. It will take place from 27 until 29 February 2024 at ZAG headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Description and programme

The workshop, dedicated to MSc and PhD students, post-docs and senior researchers, aims to illustrate advanced three-dimensional (3D) processing and analysis protocols applied to studies in Earth sciences domain. The workshop will consist of theory (lectures) and practical sessions and will cover the following topics:

  1. 3D/4D X-ray imaging techniques: principles, applications and tutorials
  2. Artificial and natural building materials: environmental and health impact
  3. Natural and cultural heritage applications
  4. Multidisciplinary applications in geosciences

The full programme is available HERE.

Applications

Applications are accepted HERE until the places are filled or until 30 January 2024. There is no registration fee for the event and attendance is possible only in person. The workshop will be held in English language.
