Ljubljana, 26 October 20009 - The 21st FEHRL General Assembly, which took place in Budapest, Hungary, on October 8th and 9th 2009, has elected Bojan Leben (ZAG) as the new FEC Chairman. Mr. Leben will be taking over for Mr. Govert Sweere who served as FEC Chairman since 2006. Martin Pipa (CDV) and Sandra Erkens (DVS) have also be elected to join the Executive Committee. All of the newly elected members will serve on the FEC for a three-year term. More... |

| Ljubljana, 11 July - On 16th and 17th July 2009, rehabilitation works will take place on the Log Čezsoški bridge, (Slovenia) with the world premiere application of a new generation of Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concretes (UHPFRC). | Bled, May 7th 2009 – The CERTAIN seminar, which finished successfully
today, was focused on the presentation of results from EU funded
project in the field of road infrastructure, and was organized under
the frame of CERTAIN seminars in national languages finished
successfully. The seminar was held in Bled and was organized by the
Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, ZAG. All
presentations were held in the Slovenian language and were
comprehensible to the non-expert public as well. The topics ranged from
constructive responses of researchers to current problems in road
transport to the future perspectives in transport and the concept of
intelligent roads. Delegates from research institutes, government
bodies and industry have agreed that Slovenia is one of the most
successful New Member States in acquiring road-infrastructure-related
projects funded from the 4, 5, 6, and 7 Framework Programmes of the
European Commission. However, the state should put research and
development among the priorities when it comes to providing financial
support. Speakers at the opening sessions pointed out several times
that difficulties in acquiring research funds from the EC often arise
during the application stage already, as the high financial inputs is a
considerable set-back for the potential partners from the industry. More... |
