On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, a successful event was held at the Slovenian Embassy in Brussels on the topic of fire safety needs of a sustainable built environment. The event was organized by ZAG and SBRA (The Slovenian Business and Research Association).
On 11 May 2023, ZAG together with the Geological Survey of Slovenia organised the “GEORIS info day” where we presented innovative technologies for the recovery of mineral waste in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Dr. Vilma Ducman and Dr. Sabino Dolenec participated.
Today, ZAG was visited by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Igor Papič. He was received by the Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aleš Žnidarič and Dr. Urška Kropf. The director presented ZAG and the areas of our research and professional engagement.
The built environment is facing several critical issues that are affecting our economy, environment, and our social well-being. From climate change and greenhouse gas emissions to inefficient energy use and resident disruption, there is an urgent need to address these challenges and create a safer, more sustainable future.
ZAG hosted the annual meeting of the EGOLF association “European Group of Organizations for Fire Testing, Inspection and Certification”, which took place from April 18 to 20, 2023 in Ljubljana. It was attended by over 110 experts from all over the world.
ZAG participates in a bilateral project between the Republic of India and the Republic of Slovenia (BI-IN/22-24-018) entitled “Green Sustainable Building Materials from Industrial Waste By-Products – Red Sludge and Synthetic Gypsum”.
We are glad that among the recipients is also ZAG Ljubljana, which participated in the project “Disposable medical masks represent a new potential burden for the terrestrial environment”. A group from the Laboratory for Polymer Materials/Department for Functional Materials participated in the design of the achievement (professor Dr. Andreja Škapin and Luka Skrlep).
The Building Research Institute of Slovenia is organising the closing event of the ADRISEISMIC project, funded by the Interreg Adrion Programme. The main objective of the project is to reduce the seismic vulnerability of the built environment.
As part of the CINDERELA project, two hybrid events will take place. CINDERELA Project Final Stakeholders Meeting, will take place tomorrow, 11/11/2022, between 9 am and 1 pm and CINDERELA Project Final Conference, which will take place on Thursday, 17/11/2022, between 9:30 and 12:30.
