Kovine in kulturna dediščina

Študiramo lastnosti bakra in brona, izpostavljenega agresivnim razmeram, razvijamo in študiramo lastnosti zaščitnih sistemov z uporabo korozijskih inhibitorjev ter premazov s posebnimi lastnostmi, ki jih lahko kontroliramo. Rast korozijskih produktov spremljamo z Ramansko spektroskopijo, morfologijo korozijskih produktov pa z SEM analizo, elektrokemijske / korozijske lastnosti pa definiramo z različnimi elektrokemijskimi metodami. V zadnjem obdobju razvijamo senzorje za meritve korozivnosti atmosfere v muzejskih okoljih.

Strokovno smo vključeni v preglede in ocene stanj različnih spomenikov nacionalnega pomena, kot je Prešernov spomenik, Marijin steber – restavriranje, Tršarjev spomenik, Trg revolucije v Kranju, Valvazorjev in Vodnikov spomenik v Ljubljani.

Pri tem delu sodelujemo z Laboratorijem za polimere (ZAG), Zavodom za raziskavo kulturne dediščine in Mestno občino Ljubljana.
